본 발명은 진세노사이드 F2를 유효성분으로 포함하는 간암 예방 또는 치료용 조성물에 관한 것으로, 구체적으로 본 발명에 따른 조성물은 정상세포에는 영향을 미치지 않으면서, 간암세포를 사멸시키고, 간암의 형성을 특이적으로 억제하며, 알라닌아미노기전달효소(alanine aminotransferase, ALT) 또는 아스파르트산아미노기전달효소(aspartate aminotransferase, AST)의 발현을 감소시켜, 간암 치료제로 유용하게 사용할 수 있다.
