In order to overcome the disadvantages of optical surveillance system, which is greatly influenced by climate changing and the brightness of light, Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) has been studied as a solution for accurate detection. Due to various electromagnetic wave characteristics and radar application platforms, SAR generate different characteristics and purposes. It leads to obtain various advantages over conventional radars in detection/reconnaissance. During doctoral course, we have researched and developed SAR signal processing algorithms suitable for the three platforms Auto-SAR, Airborne-SAR, and Spaceborne-SAR, respectively. Moreover, we developed a novel algorithm using the accumulated previous research and verified it through practical experiments. In this doctoral dissertation, a signal processing compensation algorithm (Vector Velocity Compensation) based on Auto-SAR was developed, and a Ka-band De-ramped radar system was designed to obtain a high-quality SAR image with a center frequency of 35.75 GHz. We also developed the Video-SAR algorithm(Doppler shifting technique) of the Airborne-SAR platform based on the X-band Chirp Pulse radar system.
