dc.description.abstract | Image recapture is a simple method to illegally leak digital content, but it is also a challenging method to prevent. With the development and dissemination of digital devices, anyone can easily obtain high-quality recaptured content using photographic devices. Because the copyright of the content cannot be protected if the recaptured content is illegally leaked over the Internet, a copyright protection technique is needed to protect content from image recapture. In this dissertation, we propose an image encryption technique to prevent image recapture on a polarized 3D system. The proposed technique consists of two image encryption techniques to prevent the recapture of binary and color images according to the content characteristics. The technique is based on a commercially available polarized 3D system with line interlacing properties to simultaneously obtain the concealment and visibility of the image, which is a requirement for image recapture prevention. The secret image to be protected from recapture is encrypted using the proposed image encryption technique and is decrypted using polarized glasses. Information about the secret image cannot be extracted from the encrypted image recaptured from the display. In addition, the viewing authority of the content can be controlled using polarized glasses, allowing restricted viewing of the secret image or selective viewing of the both secret and public image. The experimental results show that the proposed technique can statistically and visually conceal the secret image. Therefore, the proposed image encryption technique can prevent illegal content leakage from image recapture and can be used as a secure display scheme. | - |
