For the last decade, quantum dots have been emerging as next-generation materials for various applications such as photovoltaics, light emitting diodes, and solar cell. Precursors, which are metal-ligand complexes, are an essential part for quantum dot synthesis, processing and applications. In this Ph. D dissertation, we focus on the effect of the precursor activity on quantum dot fabrication, in particular on cation exchange reaction and novel InP nanocrystal synthesis.
