Mobile electronic devices became indispensable necessities in daily life, and these devices need continuous or intermittent power supply. When users try to supply power to these devices, they want to be independent with the charger, and various inductive wireless power transfer systems were developed to implement these demands. However, inductive power transfer systems are very sensitive to angular alignment of receiving devices, and numerous problems occur as the system generate wide range of magnetic field. In this thesis, Tx coil with SMF technology that can generate high magnetic flux density in local area, and Rx coil that can receive power in any direction of magnetic field are proposed. Both coil structures are designed to be very slim, giving no inconvenience while installing or using the system. By integrating two coil structures, a novel selective omnidirectional wireless power transfer system, which solved all the problems from inductive power transfer system, is newly proposed for the first time.
