dc.description.abstractThe battery market is growing day by day as the devices that store and use electricity are emerging throughout the industry like electric cars. With the success of the Li-ion battery, the structural battery, which granted load-bearing capability to batteries, concept has drawn attention. Thus, studies have been conducted to make structural battery by using the light and superior mechanical properties composite material, which shared layered structure concept. In this master’s thesis, shedding from plate type structural battery, which had unstable electrochemical performances with relatively low mechanical properties, cylinder type structural battery was proposed. Through this hollow-cylindrical composites structural battery, it guarantees the confined distance between the electrodes by its closed section stiffness and a new sealing method conceived from pouch cell helped to increase cyclic stability. Furthermore, in order to check the feasibility of the proposed features, not only pure electrochemical performance experiment but also measuring the changes in electrochemical performance under load was confirmed. Through this paper, it has been verified the hollow-cylindrical composites structural battery could be used as a single independent battery system.-
