Graphene quantum dots are promising materials as a new type of luminescent material because of their unique optical properties, chemical inertness, and stable photoluminescence. The structure is consists of low cost carbon elements and have low toxicity as a good alternative to the inorganic quantum dots, which contain toxic metals. In this work, we synthesized nitrogen-doped graphene quantum dots with uniform size and studied their applications. The uniform graphene quantum dots exclude the additional size selection procedure, resulting in high product yield. The electronic properties of graphene quantum dots are modulated by nitrogen doping, and it leads to enhanced quantum yield. On the basis of improved quantum yield of nitrogen-doped graphene quantum dots, it has the potential for applications, such as luminescent film and light emitting didoes.-
