Photoelectrochemical water splitting can generate hydrogen fuel using infinite solar energy. However, it is necessary to develop an efficient photoelectrode capable of oxidizing or reducing water for practical applications. In this thesis, I reports heterostructure of $BiVO_4$ and $MoS_2$ for efficient water oxidation through several synthesis methods. The photocurrent density of $MoS_2$/$BiVO_4$ photoanode synthesized by the hydrothermal method is higher than that of BiVO4 photoanode. This study suggests that hybridization of $MoS_2$ and $BiVO_4$ can improve the efficiency of the solar water oxidation.
