dc.description.abstract | Recently, the use of small unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) has increased in various applications such as surveillance and logistics. Consequently, in urban areas, the impact risk assessment for people and properties exposed to the risk under the operation is required. In this research, the UAV that weighs a kilogram is driven to collide with the heat-strengthened glass panels, which is commonly used as cladding for building structures in South Korea. The high-speed camera records the collision responses and fractures shape of the UAVs and the targets, and the dynamic load-cells measure the transient impact forces under different impact conditions such as the impact velocity, the impact angle, and target thickness. In order to verify the experimental results, the numerical model is also proposed by use of the finite element method. | - |
