dc.description.abstract | A taxonomic study was carried out on two stains TR7-09$^T$ and T7-07$^T$ isolated from the compost in South Korea. Comparative 16S rRNA gene sequence studies showed a clear affiliation of these two bacteria to the Gammaproteobacteria and were most closely related to Silanimonas lenta KCTC 12236$^T$ (92.0% and 92.7% 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity, respectively). These two strains were Gram-negative, aerobic, motile, and rod-shaped bacteria. The G+C content of the genomic DNA of the strains TR7-09$^T$ and T7-07$^T$ were 70.8% and 68.3%, and predominant ubiquinone was Q-8. Major fatty acids are C$_{15:0}$iso, C$_{16:0}$iso, C$_{17:1}$iso ω9c and C$_{11:0}$iso 3-OH. On the basis of polyphasic evidences, it is proposed that strains TR7-09$^T$ and T7-07$^T$ should be placed in a new genus Aspromonas gen. nov., as two distinct new species, for which the names Aspromonas composta sp. nov. and Aspromonas terrae sp. nov. are proposed with the type strains TR7-09$^T$ and T7-07$^T$. | eng |
