Low dropout voltage (LDO) regulator including dual loop circuit

Abstract

A low dropout (L DO) regulator is provided that includes a two-loop circuit, a low dropout (L DO) regulator including a coarse tuning loop circuit configured to receive an input voltage, generate a coarse tuning code, and adjust a coarse tuning current based on the coarse tuning code, a digital controller configured to receive the coarse tuning code and generate a fine tuning loop control signal based on the coarse tuning code, and a fine tuning loop circuit configured to receive the input voltage and the fine tuning loop control signal and adjust the fine tuning current based on the input voltage and the fine tuning loop control signal, wherein the coarse tuning current and the fine tuning current adjust a level of an output voltage.
