Highly Improved Light Conversion Efficiency of Quantum Dot Film via Haze Controllable Glass-fabric Reinforced Quantum Dot Hybrimer Film

Quantum dot films have attracted attention these days. This is because display market has changed from pixel competition to image quality competition. As a way to realize and promote this trend, there is the introduction of quantum dot film due to quantum dot having high color purity from the narrow full width at half maximum (FWHM) and wide color gamut. Nowadays, additionally, quantum dot film is researched to improve the light conversion efficiency in order to maximize the emission from quantum dot. For this viewpoint, we fabricated quantum dot glass-fabric reinforced Hybrimer film. As our quantum dot film is composite film between quantum dot siloxane matrix and glass-fabric, it is easy to improve the light conversion efficiency by controlling the haze of films. There are three major ways to control the haze; (i) changing the refractive index of siloxane matrix, (ii) changing the number of glass-fabric, and (iii) adding the diffusing agents. From these methods, haze was controlled and especially, light conversion efficiency is increased when the haze is going higher. Moreover, our quantum dot glass-fabric reinforced Hybrimer film is stable against heat, moisture and the light. Therefore, our quantum dot glass-fabric reinforce Hybrimer film could be a material for devices in next-generation displays.
