Low temperature solid oxide fuel cells (LT-SOFCs) were operated with a JP5 model reformate. SOFC performance with the reformate showed only a 15% decrease compared to H-2 below 600 degrees C and was stable at 550 degrees C up to 500 h without observable coking of the anode, indicating feasibility of LT-SOFCs on liquid hydrocarbons for transportation applications.
