In this paper, a deployable high gain reflectarray antenna for microsatellite application is proposed. The reflectarray antenna is designed by using metamaterial graded quasi parabolic deployable reflector and radiator operating at 35.75 GHz. A highly reflecting metasurface with 3 dB stop band of more than 10 GHz bandwidth with maximum reflection at 35.75 GHz is designed. The phase graded modified circular ring resonator unit cells are used to design quasi parabolic phase distribution reflector. A gain of more than 12 dBi by small reflector antenna and more than 45 dBi by larger deployable reflector antenna is observed. The designed deployable reflector antenna is found to be suitable for microsatellite applications due to small volume, small weight and low cost.
