dc.description.abstract | Advances in smart phone display technology have evolved to provide faster screen refresh rates and higher resolutions. However, since the power consumption of the display system accounts for a large part of the total system's power consumption, the high refresh rate and the high-resolution output are the major causes of shortening the operating time under the battery-based driving environment. Therefore, in this thesis, we propose a technique to reduce the power consumption of smart phone display. In the proposed scheme, the on-chip framebuffer cache is added to the display controller to reduce unnecessary memory access and data movement. According to the results of this study, the power consumption of memory for display system was reduced by 76.6%, and the power consumption of the total smart phones was reduced by 12.7%. | - |
