Enhanced photoluminescence of porous QD/$TiO_2$ composite film by blending scattering particles산란 입자 혼용을 통한 다공성 양자점-이산화타이타늄 복합 필름의 발광 특성 향상

Quantum dot films have been studied extensively as next generation display technologies due to their high color reproducibility and facile emission wavelength control. However, the light loss is still an irresistible disadvantage for the quantum dot films as the light emitted from the quantum dots of the film randomly diverges in all directions. In this study, to control disordered luminescence from the quantum dots, titanium dioxide nanoparticles having a diameter of about 20 nm and ones of about 350 nm were mixed together to produce a porous quantum dot-titanium dioxide composite film showing scattering effect. The resulted film showed not only large scattering effect which increased the amount of light emitted in the front side, but also increased distance between the inner quantum dots and confirmed the reduction of the Förster resonance energy transfer and leakage energy. Using this effect, the completed film showed a photoluminescence intensity of about 2.8 times increased compared to the conventional film.
