dc.description.abstract | Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is the most aggressive and malignant primary brain tumor with low median survival rate about 15 months on average even after surgical removal. The remaining infiltrative tumor cells contribute to increasing the recurrence rate, destroying the extracellular matrix components. Photothermal therapy, one of the efficient tumor treatment within conventional cancer therapies, has used to overcome the side effects of conventional cancer therapies, which are the lack specificity for tumor cells and neural damage in the brain. Unlike previous researches, Photothermic effect was used to inhibit the migration of glioma cancer cells rather than induction of tumor apoptosis. Gold nanorod (GNR) based biomimetic structure was used in this paper to develop the brain tumor treatment by inhibiting the migration of brain tumor cells. | - |
