dc.description.abstractTransfer path analysis (TPA) is known as an identification method for the dynamic excitation source of the mechanical structure or systems that consist of many sub assemblies and components. The flow of the vibration or acoustical energy from the source to the receivers can be traced by using this analysis method. According to the theory of TPA, the operational or excitation forces are able to be identified since the energy flows through the paths of the structure. For many years, TPA has been used as a reliable method to assess the noise vibration harshness (NVH) behaviour. Although TPA has been used so widely in industrial fields, it has weaknesses such as the poor boundary conditions, the number of the responses, disturbances, etc. In addition, TPA has been used the vibration and acoustic phenomena in mechanical structures. In this thesis a modified TPA was developed to overcome the weaknesses of the conventional TPA and strain-acceleration combined TPA was suggested to extend the usage of TPA. The suggested TPA methods were validated theoretically and experimentally, and the validated TPA methods were usded for an actual mechanical system. The accurate estimation of operational force was possible by using a modified TPA and the strain of the structure was able to be estimated by the strain-acceleration combined TPA.-
