dc.description.abstractA measurement of the deflection of a laser beam in a modulated magnetic field with a prototype apparatus has produced an upper limit on the charge of the photon of 8.5x10(-17)e. It is shown that an improved apparatus could attain a sensitivity of 10(-21)e.-
