Au nanoframe structures have attracted tremendous interests due to their promising optical properties. Thanks to their unique properties, it is known that frame nasnostructures have advantages of applications in sensors, catalysis, biological imaging, and surface-enhanced Raman scattering. However, there are still limitations for synthesis methodology and morphology. Herein, we demonstrate a simple but robust method for Au particle-in-a-nanoframe (PINF) and cover several enhanced optical properties of them. Compared with Au-Ag triangular nanoframes (TNFs), the prepared PINFs showed high sensitivity factor in plasmonic sensing and enhanced surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) activity. Furthermore, the in-situ SERS monitoring means the potential for applying to the study on heterogeneous catalytic reaction.
