The hydrolysis of Chlorella sorokiniana. HS1 biomass by using sulfuric acid was studied. The overall process was comprised of three steps. First, the proper condition for lipid extraction of microalgal biomass was investigated. Second, microalgal biomass of different condition (untreated, treated, and LEA) were hydrolyzed by sulfuric acid at $90^\circ C$. Third, ethanol production of $S.cerevisiae$ KL17 fermentation by using acid hydrolysate was experimented. As a result, proper lipid extraction solvent and reaction time was verified to hexane: ethanol=1: 2.5 solvent for 1 hour. By hydrolyzing the microalgal biomass, untreated biomass was appeared to be possessing highest sugar yield and glucose composition. Consequently, the hydrolysate of 100g/L untreated microalgal biomass with 1N sulfuric acid was fermented producing approximately 6.2g/L ethanol.
