dc.description.abstractIn the first work, we reported two new polymers with amide linkages and these polymers were analyzed and investigated for the carbon dioxide capture and separation. The breakthrough experiments were carried out by the homemade cell and selectivity is measured. The interactions between the polarized groups and gas molecule increase the $CO_2$ uptake of 8.7 wt.% at one bar, irrespective of surface area. Furthermore, these polymers exhibit high stability and resistant toward many solvents including water. In a similar way, the azo polymers were synthesized by diazotization reaction and characterized. Further, the absorption capacity of these polymers towards carbon dioxide and nitrogen are measured. The two polymers show good adsorption towards carbon dioxide. The polymer is predicted to be optimum material for the capture and separation of carbon dioxide since selectivity $CO_2$ over nitrogen is higher. In the similar way, we synthesized reported coordination polymer with copper metal and heterocyclic ligand. We tested application of the previously reported metal complex for carbon dioxide uptake and selectivity. In this thesis, new heterocyclic groups are incorporated for the synthesis of porous polymer and its application for gas capture was studied.-
