본 발명은, 간질환자의 간질발작을 예측하는 알고리즘에 있어서, 간질발작 발생 이전에 간질발작을 미리 예측하는 방법을 제공한다. 상기 간질발작을 예측하는 방법은 간질환자의 뇌에서 EEG 신호를 측정하는 단계 및 EEG 신호의 주파수 대역별 함량비율을 구하는 단계 및 상기 상대적 주파수 함량비율로부터 간질발작 예측에 적합한 한 개의 채널을 선택하는 단계를 포함하며, 간질발작의 예측은 선택된 주파수 대역별 함량비율의 상대적 변화를 감지함으로써 이루어진다.
