The authors propose a low-power deep search engine called BRAIN for real-time path planning of intelligent autonomous robots. BRAIN adopts a multithreaded core architecture with a transposition table cache to avoid duplicated searches between processors deep in the search tree. It achieves a fast search speed and low energy consumption and was successfully applied to autonomous navigation robots in dynamic environments.
