This study examined the past, present, and future of English-medium instruction (EMI) in Korean universities. For this research goal, document analysis was conducted: a large volume of papers, articles, and Internet sources on EMI in Korean universities and documents related to the Korean government's EMI policies was collected from various government offices and agencies and policy-related organizations. The presentation will discuss why and how the Korean government initiated EMI in Korean universities and has supported the EMI implementation of Korean universities, why and how universities have adopted EMI policies, how professors and students have reacted to universities' adoption of EMI, and what are considered desirable EMI methods for Korean university students. Finally, the presentation will be concluded with the future directions of EMI that Korean universities are likely to take.-
