Nowadays, 6Lo Bluetooth Low Energy(6BLE) has emerged as a key network technology for mobile healthcare to support portable and low-power end-to-end Internet connectivity for mobile healthcare. However, since 6BLE-enabled devices need to be paired with user’s mobile device for communication. If paired mobile devices moved out of the communication range or runs out battery, BLE-enabled device cannot transfer user’s health status even in critical situations, when user needs urgent first-aid. In this paper, we propose a novel Non-paired Emergency Data Transmission for Mobile Healthcare in 6Lo over BLE, which provides non-paired data transmission using advertising proce- dure on the BLE and a fragmentation-and-reassembly function on the 6BLE. We implement the prototype of advertising data transmission protocol on top of SNAIL, which is our 6Lo software platform, and validate that the emergency data is transferred through non-paired mobile device by using SNAIL prototype.
