This paper introduces an interactive snowboard concept, Motion Echo Snowboard, which provides visually augmented feedback for body movements during snowboarding. The proposed system augments the user experience with a real-time visual display of performer weight distribution on the upper side of the snowboard. We conducted two user studies: an individual usage and a lesson situation. Based on the results, we confirmed that the Motion Echo Snowboard concept could enhance movement perception and motivation as being the starting point for exploring body movement in both situations. Moreover, it could generate new behavior patterns and could establish student-instructor trust as a medium of movement during lessons.
