A crystal plasticity finite element method (CPFEM) was used to capture the effect of off‐γ‐fiber texture components on R‐value anisotropy and cup‐drawing behavior in high‐strength steel (HSS) sheets. Macrotexture analysis using XRD was conducted to capture the texture components typical in HSS sheets. The orientation distribution function around a single ideal component with the Gaussian standard functions was calculated to create the γ‐fiber texture and off‐γ‐fiber texture components. For the polycrystal model, the material behavior was described using crystal plasticity theory, in which each integration point in the element was considered to be a discrete orientation of polycrystalline HSS sheets. The R‐value anisotropy and cup‐drawing behavior of HSS sheets containing the γ‐fiber texture and off‐γ‐fiber texture components were simulated using CPFEM.
