Domain reversal of Co/Pd multilayers with varying the Pd-sublayer thickness has been quantitatively investigated. The magnetization viscosity measurement and the magnetic domain observation in real time exhibited that reversal behavior was gradually changed from nucleation dominant to wall-motion dominant with increasing the Pd-sublayer thickness. Both the wall-motion speed and the nucleation rate of the samples were determined by the quantitative analysis based on time-dependent domain patterns, The change in reversal behavior was found to be ascribed to the change in the magnetic properties with increasing the Pd-sublayer thickness.
