The purpose of this study was to examine whether linear parameter, nonlinear parameter, and coupling parameter can be predicted by asymmetric weight distribution and visual information. The hypotheses were as following. First, there will be significant correlation between asymmetric index or visual information and response variables (i.e., mean velocity(MV), RMS, and 95% ellipse area(EA)), nonlinear variables (i.e., approximate entropy(ApEn), Fractal dimension(FD)) and coupling variables (i.e., Cross-Approximate entropy (XApEn) Correlation coefficient)). Second, there will be a linear statistical relationship between response variables and at least one of the independent variables The subjects of this study were 117 healthy adults (male and female) more than 20 years old, who inhabits in Yongin area. A balance evaluator was used to measure the center of pressure (COP) and wight distribution index. The results of multiple linear regression between asymmetric index or visual information and response variables were as following. First, there were significant correlation between symmetric index or visual input and linear, nonlinear and coupling measures except MV(ML) and FD(AP). Second, linear, nonlinear, coupling parameters could predicted by symmetric index and visual input. but not for all parameters. In conclusion, asymmetric weight distribution and visual input affects not only magnitude of COP movement, which was measured by linear measures but also complexity of COP movement, which was clarified by nonlinear measures. The results verified that dynamic structure in postural control mechanism was changed by weight distribution and visual input.-
