Since the past several decades, joint replacements or implantation of mechanical pros-theses usage have increased with the development of medical technology. However, these components make the metal artifact in the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The metal in the MRI distorts the main magnetic field. The spins in field distorted region precess with off-frequency and resonate to the RF pulse with off-resonance ranges. Therefore, the spatial in-formation data is resolved erroneously and the metal artifact appears. The previous works such as slice encoding for metal artifact correction or multi-acquisition variable-resonance image combination could compensate the metal artifact. These methods effectively alleviate the metal artifact in the through-plane direction. However, the previous works do not consider the in-plane distortion in detail. Although view angle tilting could reduce the in-plane distortion, the blurring and low signal to noise ratio (SNR) problem should be solved in the previous works. In this works, the new metal artifact correction method using echo-time encoding will be proposed to the all-direction metal artifact correction with high SNR.
