Yolk-shell MoO3 microspheres are prepared by a two-step process in which molybdenum oxide-carbon (MoOx-C) composite microspheres are first obtained by spray pyrolysis, followed by combustion at 400 degrees C in air. The yolk-shell microspheres exhibit excellent electrochemical properties and structural stability.
