We have developed a numerical solution procedure and a computer code to analyze the turbulent dilute gas-particle flow consisting of a secondary lateral jet injected through a slot into the primary 2DCD nozzle for thrust vector control (TVC). Numerical formulation is based on the compressible Navier-Stokes equations in conservation-law form and a two equation k − ω turbulence model in the gas-phase part. The motion of solid particles is calculated by a Lagrangian particle-tracking scheme. The iterative particle-source-in-cell (PSIC) method is used to determine the source terms affected by the particle motion, that evolve with time iteration. Numerical results are presented in detail for the 2DCD nozzle with TVC over a range of injection mass flow ratios and nozzle pressure ratios. Two locations of injection slot are compared. The overall effect of particle suspension is
quantitatively presented.
