dc.description.abstractAll-optical logic gates using Fabry-Perot laser diode (FP-LD) are demonstrated. Two schemes for optical logic gates are explained and experimentally demonstrated using Fabry-Perot laser diode. One scheme is based on transverse magnetic (TM) mode absorption modulation and the other scheme is based on transverse electric (TE) mode gain modulation of an injection locked FP-LD. We demonstrate NOT, OR/NOR, AND/NAND gates at 1 Gb/s by TM mode absorption modulation technique and NOT and NOR gates at 10 Gb/s by TE mode gain modulation technique.en
