Since most common organic semiconductors are better suited to transport positive charges, electrons and holes usually recombine in the immediate vicinity of cathode. As consequence, the life times and efficiencies of corresponding diodes are limited. Here we demonstrate a hybrid light emitting diode that combines the MEH-PPV and inorganic nanoparticle (CdSe). It enable active device by improving the electron affinity of the electroluminescent polymer. For the application as EL device, surface of the CdSe nanoparticles should be treated to be organic. Therefore we synthesized CdSe nanoparticles via inverse micelle method and treated their surfaces with thiol as an organic modifier.
