dc.description.abstract | Separated flow past two dimensional bluff bodies at high Reynolds number is modeled by using the discrete vortex method. A new feature is added to the available existing method by employing panel method in order to treat complicated body configuration directly in the physical plane. Numerical calculation is performed to evaluate the vortex shedding rate, the time dependent lift and drag force and the position of drifted vortices in the near wake. Results for the flow past such bodies as an inclined Cat plate, a square prism and a semicircular cylinder show favorable agreement with the available experimental data. | - |
