dc.description.abstract | Alkyl polyglycosides(APG) -or allkyl polyglucosides are widely known as a environment-friendly surfactant due to its excellent surface activity as well as mildness and good biodegradability. The primary hydroxyl group in the sugar head group is available as a center for a chemical reaction. Anionic derivatives of APG was synthesized by the reaction with maleic anhydride in pyridin. APG with alkyl chains from dodecyl to tetradecyl was obtained from LG Chem and its average degree of polymerization was 1.4. Synthesis of APG derivative was confirmed by Nuclear Magnetic Resonance(NMR) spectroscopy. As a result from the anionic derivatization, surface tension with various concentrations was slightly higher than those of different head groups with same alkyl chain length. | - |
