A recent study shows that pixelated-scintillator structure results in higher resolution than non-pixelated scintillator because it confines scintillation light within each pixel. In this research, we proposed a further advanced detector structure, which has a micro-lens between the pixelated Csl (Tl) and the photosensor. In addition, we suggested a new approach to simulate the scintillation light transport using Light Tools, which have high accessibility in designing a complex model like a micro-lens. Many simulations were done with various combinations on following components: (1) micro-columnar structure of CA (Tl) within a single pixel, (2) the micro-lens to focus the light, and (3) 41 size reduction of the photodiode to increase the signal output in photosensor.
