dc.description.abstract | A new class of synthetic face stimuli has been recently introduced for studying visual face processing. Using the synthetic faces, the aspects of visual process for face categorization were investigated. In a good agreement with previous studies using an entirely different set of stimuli, it was found that there is a hysteresis in face categorization. This dynamic property of face processing could be readily explained by a simple modification of current neural model incorporating recurrent inhibitory interactions among neural units. | - |
