A new excitation band of RbCs is observed near 605 nm in a very cold molecular beam using the resonance-enhanced two photon ionization (RE2PI) method. From the rotational contour analysis and comparison with ab initio calcualtions, the new excitation band is assigned to the (1)3DELTA(OMEGA = 1)-X 1SIGMA+ transition. We determine the term value as T(e) = 16481.65 +/- 0.15 cm-1 and the dissociation energy as D(e) = 1862.8 +/- 1.2 cm-1.
