Internet shopping mall users increasingly face difficulties in managing their ids and passwords as the number of Internet shopping malls increases. Moreover, when users want to use Internet shopping malls, they must complete a registration form to become a customer. This process burdens users with repeated registration. To reduce these difficulties, some software and websites offering various solutions have been introduced. However, in these cases, customers have to install the software on their computer or login to a specific website before shopping to obtain the login management service.
In this thesis, we suggest a model of a customer-centric login management service for affiliated Internet shopping malls. In the proposed service model, each affiliated Internet shopping mall performs the authentication of its customers. The proposed login management system manages the authentication of affiliated Internet shopping mall customers. Customers obtain the login management service regardless of accessing any affiliated Internet shopping mall. Therefore, each customer does not have to install specific software nor login to a specific website beforehand. Moreover, this method does not pose any inconvenience even when users are not using their own computers. As such, the suggested login management service greatly increases user convenience, accordingly enhancing chances for success for an e-business with affiliated members.
