dc.description.abstract | Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) is one of the most important activities in quality management. Within the field of product development domain, FMEA is regarded as very important in terms of reducing cost in design revision and product quality improvement. There have been some FMEA approaches proposed in the past, based on functional modeling, to conduct more effective and systematic FMEA. But previous approaches are generally based on an ad hoc function model so that they have limitations such as insufficient failure identification, low reusability, low information understanding, a high expert knowledge dependency on failure propagation, and etc. This research proposes Function Behavior State Failure (FBSF) model which is a systemized function modeling with failure. and FMEA procedures with FBSF. The FBSF model consists of Function Decomposition Tree (FDT) model, Configuration Flow Graph (CFG) model, Function Rule, and Failure Rule. FMEA procedure is consists of failure identification, criticality analysis, and FMEA document generation phases based on a FBSF. A case study on a car air purifier is performed to show the benefit of the proposed approach. | eng |
