dc.description.abstract | Microwave ferrites characterized by tensor permeability have been utilized to implement many key-building devices such as phase shifters, circulators, and delay lines due to their nonreciprocal properties. The use of magnetized ferrite in antenna design especially provides beam tunability. In this thesis, ferrite-loaded waveguide slot and groovy antennas are analyzed using the Fourier transform and mode matching technique. Fourier transform and mode matching technique yield a rigorous and fast convergent series solution, which is amenable to computation. Proposed structures in this thesis are fabricated and tested in X-band frequencies to demonstrate the validity of the theoretical approaches. | eng |
