An elastic printed circuit board (E-PCB) is a conductive framework used for the facile assembly of system-level stretch-able electronics. Existing studies have implemented E-PCB using structure engineering, but this has limitations in stretchability and reducing in density of electronic components. A novel method was proposed to assemble liquid metal particles in polymer matrices to form a conductive network by exploiting ultrasonic waves, where resistance does not change under deformation. By using the proposed method, elastic printed circuit board was desmonstrated without structure engineering. As the method could be applied to various polymers such as photoresist, hydrogel, and self-heal-ing polymer, it may have applications in high-resolution photo-patterning, electrodes having low impedance for implant-able electronics, and self-healable liquid metal based electrodes.
