On-line network pseudo-dynamic test technologies using the internet = 인터넷 기반 온라인 네트워크 유사동적 실험기법

This dissertation presents the techniques for on-line network pseudo-dynamic testing method for the effective assessment of nonlinear behaviors of large and complex civil infrastructures using the Internet. Series of network testings were carried out among several institutions in Korea and Japan. The studies were focused on data communication methods through the Internet, hardware configurations, Java monitoring system, and wireless Internet using mobile phones. On-line network pseudo-dynamic testing using the Internet is very feasible in view of the fact that many testing facilities at different locations can form a network for interactive testings for large and complex structural systems. The time required for each step in the on-line testing varies widely depending on the data communication schemes and the testing hardware: For instance, in case of Configuration I, it took about 6 sec for each time step for the data communication/sharing between two institutions, and 5 sec for the loading operation of the pseudo-dynamic testing for each time step. On the other hand, in case of Configuration II, it took about 0.2 sec for each time step for the data communication between two institutions, and 1 sec for the loading operation of the pseudo-dynamic testing for each time step. Time difference between Configuration I and II is caused by the difference of data communication/sharing scheme and loading speed of test equipment. Configuration II which consists of all PCs and uses socket programming with TCP/IP-based data communication scheme has been found to be much more efficient than Configuration I which is composed of EWSs and PCs and requires SAMBA program for data sharing between the local servers (EWSs) and the PCs.
