Organometallic catalysts have been used in various chemical reactions, and studies to expand their application are ongoing. In this thesis, we have discussed the synthesis of various ligands based on 2,2'-Dihydroxybenzophenone, having two phenolic hydroxyl groups, and their applications as catalysts. The enantio- selective reaction were carried out for comparison between complexes of cobalt and asymmetric ligands and the conventional hydrogen bond donor ones. In addition, aluminum and the pentadentate ligands could act effective catalysts with high reactivity and selectivity in the ring-opening copolymerization of cyclohexene oxide and carbon dioxide.
