Since older adults’ needs for easy to use and remote daily care of health are substantial, information and communication technologies (ICT) have emerged as a fast-growing technology with its potential to satisfy their needs in digitalized societies. In the latest, smartwatches enable users to remotely track data that quantifies their physical activities for personal or clinical use, which is expected to dominate the market trends with the rapid growth of older consumers. In the field of marketing, researchers are profoundly studying the physiological and psychological factors influencing the older consumers’ consumption and decision-making. In this thesis, effects of health and age on the older consumers’ behavioral intention to use smartwatches for health care have been studied. Structural equation modelling (SEM) was used to test the hypotheses in the conceptual models.
