This article provides a comprehensive overview of the EV benefits, summarizes the main challenges in designing EVs, and describes a pioneering design automation inspired framework for rapid energy-aware electric vehicle synthesis. The opportunities for future work stimulated by these rigorous research efforts are endless.-
