dc.description.abstractOne of major issues of industrial internet-of-things (IIoT) is to design energy-efficient wireless networks. The 6TiSCH wireless networks are becoming key components of IIoT, because of their high energy efficiency as well as their robust operations in multi-path fading and jamming environments which are typical in industrial applications. To achieve high energy efficiency in operation of 6TiSCH wireless network, optimal link scheduling with all the nodes consisting of the 6TiSCH wireless network is considered critical. Optimal link scheduling can be characterized by some features such as collision-free link transmission and minimum use of network resource, e.g., timeslots and frequency offsets. To implement 6TiSCH network offering features of collision-free link transmission and minimum use of network resource, a priority-based link scheduling technique is proposed in this thesis. The proposed technique attempts to optimize the link scheduling by assigning specific priority to each node. Link transmission priority of each node is determined by its rank in the whole 6TiSCH network, interference plus noise at the node, and number of packets of the node to transmit within a slotframe. Based on the priorities of all the nodes in the 6TiSCH network, optimal link scheduling is performed by optimization algorithm. Results of optimal priorities to all the nodes are Pareto-optimal trade-off points. Proposed technique for 6TiSCH wireless network allows global priority assignment, distributed link scheduling, non-sequential scheduling, parallel transmission, and adaptation of topology change. Performance of the proposed technique is compared with those of other link scheduling algorithms.-
