Show-in-Use is the system previews use experience through personal avatars. Previous shopping platforms mostly provide the product-oriented information, in this research, we provide the user-oriented and life-oriented shopping system through providing use experience to users. I focus on the sofa purchasing experience and conduct two user studies to figure out and export the use experience of the product. The system is developed with three keywords, product, avatar, and use experience, and the user evaluation study is conducted to evaluate the developed system. As a result, I find out that the thinking process of users was changed from object-centered to experience-centered. Moreover, users have empathy to virtual avatars from experiential factors, not only appearance factors. I finally suggest the guidelines for further shopping platforms with Show-in-Use system, and also the role of the system in the customized design area and augmented reality environment.
